7 Easy Steps to Make Sprouted Nuts

Sprouted nuts are delicious, packed with nutrients and easy to digest. Soaking the nuts causes them to begin to germinate which helps remove phytic acid. Slowly drying them at a low heat in a dehydrator or low setting on an oven destroys the enzyme inhibitors (the nuts’ way of protecting themselves from animals and insects). This protective chemical layer keeps the animals and insects from enjoying the nut, and it also affects us humans when we eat them. Sprouting the raw nut releases the amazing nutrients, making it easier for our bodies to digest the nuts and because the nuts are more digestible, they are more nutritious to us. You can also sprout seeds, grains, beans, legumes and other nuts. Have fun with this process as you take your nutrition to the next level!
